After a little research into Devon, I just kinda knew this would be a perfect spot for our own Microgap. Dogs are banned during the summer months. It offers huge variety in terms of landscape and I love how different it always looks on the many visits I have made here. I've just returned from a lovely week away in North Devon and thought it would be fun to share some of my favourite spots to visit, along with some of my photographs. North Devon is a stunning part England to explore. I loved the soft sinking sand that left deep footprints as you walked - I turn into a big kid on the beach! Northam Burrows; Iflracombe; Woolacombe Sands Beach; The Coastal Walk from Mortehoe to Morte Point; Hartland Point; Appledore; North Devon Coastal Path to Clovelly; Clovelly; Lee Bay Perched around 1-2km from the village of Lynton, the Valley of the Rocks is a dramatic place to see in North Devon. There’s quizzes and nature trails for children, woodlands gardens and themed open days throughout the year. These are some of my top recommendations for things to do in North Devon. There’s donkey rides for children in the main summer season and craft workshops where you can find hand-made pottery and gifts. And when you see it’s miles of sand and brilliant surfing conditions you’ll understand why. Skern Lodge, based in Appledore, offer a mix of activities that involve the ocean, including surfing, bodyboarding, rafting and kayaking. For me, this was something I was totally excited about, especially as I kinda guessed we’d get to properly guzzle on some of that honey! The cliffs are stunning and the rocks fascinating. One thing you can’t forget when in North Devon is to gorge on all the delicious food in the region! You can even see views across to Wales from here. Croyde can be found at the end of a drive down proper North Devon roads – keep going, the beautiful stretch of sand and great surf is worth it. Ride rollercoasters, have a go at archery, see one of the UK’s best bird displays and live shows by illusionist Merlin as seen on Britain’ Got Talent. The beautiful Hartland Abbey and Gardens is also worth a visit - I've enjoyed bluebell walks in the spring and remember lots of colourful camellias, rhododendrons, and magnolias everywhere. This small visitor attraction is packed full of magic for young children. This beach is dog-friendly all year round and has good surfing conditions at low tide.
